Cowboys set to Practice Like Champions

The Dallas Cowboys are set to “practice like a champion” in their very own state-of-the-art training facility in Frisco, Texas named The Star.

Located just 20 minutes north of Downtown Dallas in the suburban neighborhood of Frisco, Texas is the home of the Dallas Cowboys practice facility and headquarters appropriately named “The Star”. Ford Motors recently announced a sponsorship deal to formally name the facility "The Ford Center at The Star".

The minute you exit off the Dallas North Tollway, the structure looms in the distance. It’s so huge, I almost ran into the car ahead of me at the stoplight. For most teams, players workout at a practice facility that consists of a medium sized office building with a few workout rooms and for the colder climate teams, an outdoor practice field under a large inflatable tent.

The Cowboys have decided to take their practice facility to a new level. The facility is enormous with a large glass arch suspended over the estimated 12,000 seat indoor football field that will serve as the Cowboys very own indoor, climate controlled practice stadium! The $255.5 million facility will also have full weightlifting facilities, treatment rooms, therapy pools, meeting spaces, locker rooms, and two outdoor full-size football fields.

Jerry Jones never does anything small and this latest facility lives up to the Jones Family standard of excellence. Granite finishes and high design developed inside a metal and glass modern structure display the same attention to detail that fans enjoy during a visit to Jones’ other architectural and interior design masterpiece, AT&T Stadium.

It may be the most fantastic sports training facility on the planet, but it is also part office rental space, a retail, dining, and entertainment complex, and private, members only club named The Cowboys Club. In a deal with Frisco area high schools, local youth football teams will share the indoor stadium for a series of Friday night football games. The indoor stadium is so large it even has private suites. Who builds suites in a practice facility? Jerry Jones does. A shopping area is set to open in front of the indoor stadium featuring shops and several dining options for visitors to enjoy.
